Hue Festival 2010: cultural feast begins

The Hue Festival 2010 opened on June 5, attracting 28 participating countries.
The opening ceremony:

The first item entitled "Hoa Lu spirit" (Hoa Lu in the northern province of Ninh Binh is Vietnam’s old capital city)

Hue royal court dance and singing.

Gong performance by artists from the Central Highlands.

Quan ho Bac Ninh (Bac Ninh love duet).

Chinese dragon dance.

Korean traditional dance.

Russian traditional dance.

Belgium stilt walkers.

Japanese artists.



Kites on Truong Tien Bridge.

A painting drawn on the road by over 100 people.

The Legend of Huong River:

A dragon boat on the Huong River.

Boats travel 15km from King Minh Mang tomb to Nghinh Luong Dinh wharf...

... to tell the story about Huong River.

Mandarins welcomed the King and his entourage on the dragon boat.


Color lanterns released at the Thien Mu pagoda’s wharf to welcome the King.


The fairy at Thien Mu pagoda showed the King the good land for building his kingdom.
