Beauty contest for teens launched
A contest to look for beautiful and smart schoolgirls who will represent Vietnam at the upcoming Miss Teen Global and Miss Teen World pageants was launched in Hanoi on June 15, called “Miss Teen 2010”.

The competition is designed for Vietnamese girls aged 16-19 who are studying in high schools and universities, both at home and abroad. Previously, this pageant was called “Miss Audition” and began in 2006.
With the theme “Miss Teen and Luggage for Life”, the fifth annual beauty contest will include three rounds: from August 15 to September 15 the first 100 contestants will be chosen; the second round from September 26 to October 11 selects the best 20 competitors; the final round will be held in mid-November.
This year the jury will pick the winners based on their knowledge, beauty, friendly and behavior. Miss Teen 2010 will receive 100 million dong (over $5000). Runners-up will be awarded 60, 40 and 20 million dong.
Miss Teen 2010 will represent Vietnam at the Miss Teen Global and Miss Teen World pageants.
A HCM City’s Xuan Mai is currently Miss Teen 2009.
